pvaslinda writes "

From our friend Dan McKercher,President of Aqua Land Aquarium Society:

Hi there fishy folks,

It's almost upon us! Yup that's right the one and only ALAS auction!

When is it you ask?
It's Sunday May 18, 2008 silly!

Where is it you ask?
The one and only Bristol Clarion Hotel 42 Century Dr. Bristol Ct. 06010

How do I get there you ask?
It's simple, Just take Exit 31 off I84 go North on West St. towards Bristol.
You will see the Clarion hotel about 3.5 miles on your left.

Who is going to do the auction you ask? Why it will be the one and only Jim
White the auction MAN!

Will there be vendors you ask? Why certainly! Everyone knows Ken's Fish,
Need a great deal on fish supplies? He is the man with the plan!, Be sure to
stop by and support our own tropical fish reporters at Catfish Currents,
Rubi Aquatics of West Haven, Say Hi to Amin and he will cut you a cool deal
on all kinds of aquarium related products, And last but not least Terry the
driftwood guy from Petstar in Branford. Stop by to see him and make all your
soft water fish happy campers with a great looking piece of driftwood.

What's that you say? You need a registration form? Click the link below.
http://www.aqualandtropical.org/forum/viewtopic.php?p=440#440

So come on down, bring all your unwanted wet pets, aquarium items "that
work, Don't want to stiff a fellow hobbyist ya know" pack a lunch "Hotel

NEC Announcements 2008 NEC Conservation Committee

pvaslinda writes "The NEC's 33rd Annual Convention is upon us and the NEC Conservation committee is seeking your help with this year's worthwhile endeavor.

I want to first thank those that have donated fish in the past to this conservation effort. Without your fish we would not be able to raise money for conservation efforts around the globe. If you have fish you would like to donate again this year, please let me know. We are looking for a total of about 12 lots again this year.

We are looking for fish that are either rare in the hobby or endangered in their natural habitat. Your donations will be sold in a silent auction as we have done in the past. The fish will be on display all weekend in the vendor room.

We will be donating 100% of the money from the sale of the donated fish to Project Piaba (www.projectpiaba.org).

Thank you for your support and I look forward to your reply!

Also, we are short a vice President for the club. Frank, due to personal reasons can no longer continue with the club. If anyone is interested in taking over as club V.P. nominations will be at this meeting.
I'm hoping for a good turnout for our speaker to keep this club alive.
