2008 NEC Conservation Committee
pvaslinda writes "The NEC's 33rd Annual Convention is upon us and the NEC Conservation committee is seeking your help with this year's worthwhile endeavor.
I want to first thank those that have donated fish in the past to this conservation effort. Without your fish we would not be able to raise money for conservation efforts around the globe. If you have fish you would like to donate again this year, please let me know. We are looking for a total of about 12 lots again this year.
We are looking for fish that are either rare in the hobby or endangered in their natural habitat. Your donations will be sold in a silent auction as we have done in the past. The fish will be on display all weekend in the vendor room.
We will be donating 100% of the money from the sale of the donated fish to Project Piaba (www.projectpiaba.org).
Thank you for your support and I look forward to your reply!

NECA MEETING SATURDAY MARCH 8th
pvaslinda writes "The March Meeting of the NECA is this coming Saturday. We have Tom Ganley joining us to discuss collecting cichlids in Florida and Central America. It is important to support our speakers and get a good showing.
Also, we are short a vice President for the club. Frank, due to personal reasons can no longer continue with the club. If anyone is interested in taking over as club V.P. nominations will be at this meeting.
I'm hoping for a good turnout for our speaker to keep this club alive.
Regards,
The New England Cichlid Association Team.
